Review: LaraBar Bites

My Instagram friend Chelsy, discovered that LaraBars made these bites that can help savor your sweet tooth. I went on a Target run and I found them in the food section and I just had to try them after her recommendation.

There are 4 different kinds of LaraBar Bites (see in picture below).

Honestly, I can be a picky eater sometimes and I don’t like cherries or coconut so the bottom two I wouldn’t try. But the Mint Chocolate Truffle and the Double Chocolate Brownie I would eat regularly.

My first try was obviously the Double Chocolate Brownie and they were amazing. I could have honestly munched on the whole bag, there are 5 servings per bag and 4 of the little nubs are 140 calories.

I hope that you decide to try them because they are definitely worth it when you have that random evening sweet tooth craving!

2016: Week 31 Recap

And we returned from our vacation in Cancun and definitely did not want to leave! It was restful and a great way to spend some time with the hubby and relax!

5.99 miles on the track -2.5 mile warm up then the decreasing conshy ladder (1600, 1200, 800, 400) with Conshy Running.

The cooler temperatures helped me feel fast again!

I love this crew of motivating people.

Wednesday, August 3rd

3.25 morning miles – got it done even though I was a bit slower, I guess because of pushing so hard at the Conshy Running track workout. But I am proud of my performance there so I will take this slow run and know that I got it done!

Thursday, August 4th

Got 2 miles in on the Schkyull River Trail then hit up my last 3 miles for the day with my favorites pals at Conshy Running!

Friday, August 5th

Took a rest day to be ready for my 12 mile long run on Saturday. Did some strength training at the gym!

Can’t wait to meet the baby!

Boston Bound – Book Review

Two weeks ago, I won this awesome book called Boston Bound by Elizabeth Clor through a giveaway that Carlee McDot had on her Instagram page. I was excited that I won the book, if I didn’t win I would have bought a copy anyway. I was definitely excited to dive into this book once it came in the mail but I was waiting for our vacation to Cancun to really break it out because I wanted to enjoy reading it on the plane and by the beach.

While reading the book on the beach I loved how it was a story mostly based off of Elizabeth’s own blog posts. You were able to capture the raw feelings she felt as she failed to BQ in multiple races to then face and conquor her barriers to finally qualify for the Boston Marathon after 7 years of numerous attempts.

When Elizabeth realized that she could do whatever she wanted with her life and not worry about other people’s opinions. She just needed to “do Elizabeth” and that’s all that mattered! It was enlightening to me. That is something I wish I had a firmer grasp on when I was a college field hockey player, not comparing myself to others or trying to be someone that I am not. I am glad tha when it comes to running I have tried to have the mentality that Elizabeth developed as much as I can. I need to be confident that I am capable of doing more and better than I have been especially in the half marathon, I can’t let the success of other people push me away. Enjoy the community of running and the relationships that I have made from this awesome sport.

I highly recommend this book of you are struggling to reach a goal you set out to achieve, comparing yourself to others, or just a person who loves to run. It’s an easy read and definitely a page turner!

Thanks Elizabeth for the awesome book!
